What happens during a hygiene appointment?
Available at both our Douglas and Clonakilty practices, our hygiene sessions are with our experienced hygienists. During this session, they will discuss your general oral health and offer you advice and tips. Our team will also:
- Scale and polish your teeth to remove any stains or or tartar buildup.
- If you have braces, they will show you how to properly clean around your brackets when at home.
- Check your gums and teeth for any signs of problems, such as tooth wear or receding gums.
- Give you advice on the types of toothbrush, toothpaste and other cleaning aids, such as mouthwashes and dental floss, that are best suited to your teeth and needs.
